Editorial Standards

At UniGuide, the trust of our readers, social media followers, and customers is the foundation of everything we do. This page explains how content is created, researched, and curated on UniGuide — and how our editorial decisions are kept independent from our commercial relationships. We believe you deserve to know exactly how this platform operates.

Who Creates UniGuide’s Content

The vast majority of content on UniGuide is written personally by Kristen M. Stanton, UniGuide’s founder. Occasionally, UniGuide publishes articles by outside contributors, but this is rare. Every article and product description published on UniGuide — whether written by Kristen or a contributor — is personally reviewed and edited by Kristen before publication.

In an era when AI-generated content is flooding the internet, we think it matters that you know real human thought, research, and editorial judgment goes into every page on this site and in our social posts and other content. You can learn more about Kristen’s background, areas of study, and research philosophy on her author page.

How We Research and Write

Kristen approaches every topic as a lifelong student — reading widely across history, world spiritual practices, mythology, folklore, and philosophy, and drawing on thought leaders and academic influences. Sources are cited where the information is not widely established common knowledge.

UniGuide covers a variety of topics, such as animal symbolism, mythology, astrology, tarot, sacred geometry, dream analysis, and more, where information varies significantly across cultures and traditions. We do our best to cross-reference multiple sources, acknowledge when interpretations differ, and present information with appropriate context rather than false certainty.

We are always learning. If you believe something on UniGuide is inaccurate or incomplete, we welcome your feedback. See the Corrections and Updates section below.

Our Approach to Spiritual and Mystical Topics

UniGuide exists to inspire exploration, not to prescribe belief. Content on this site presents spiritual perspectives, symbolic meanings, New Age and ancient wisdom traditions, and more as invitations to reflect and discover — not as definitive facts, predictions, or instructions.

Nothing on UniGuide should be taken as a substitute for medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. If you are facing a health challenge, a mental health concern, a legal matter, or a financial decision, please consult a qualified professional. Always use your own critical thinking skills and consult experts when needed.

We believe wonder and discernment can coexist. UniGuide does not treat every spiritual claim, product, or experience as equally trustworthy simply because it falls under the broad umbrella of spirituality or wellness. We aim to help readers ask good questions, not simply validate whatever they want to hear.

Cultural Respect and Representation

UniGuide draws from spiritual traditions, mythologies, and wisdom practices from cultures around the world. We approach this material with deep respect for the cultures and peoples from whom these traditions originate. We do our best to present cultural content with proper context, accurate attribution, and sensitivity to the difference between appreciation and appropriation.

We recognize that this is an area where learning is ongoing and perspectives differ. If you feel that something on UniGuide misrepresents, oversimplifies, or disrespects a cultural tradition that you are part of or are knowledgeable about, we sincerely welcome your correction. Please contact us and we will review and respond thoughtfully.

Editorial Independence from Commercial Relationships

UniGuide earns revenue through affiliate programs, display advertising, curated product, service, and experience recommendation, as well as some direct sales. These commercial relationships never influence what is written, recommended, or covered editorially.

Specifically:

  • Affiliate relationships do not determine which products, services, or experiences are featured in articles or UniGuide’s shop pages. Content decisions are made editorially and independently.
  • Advertisers and affiliate partners have no input into article topics, content, or recommendations.
  • UniGuide does not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage or positive reviews.

The separation between our editorial content and our commercial relationships is a firm principle, not a suggestion. For full details on how UniGuide earns revenue, please see our Disclosures page.

How We Select Products, Services, and Experiences

When UniGuide recommends a product, service, or experience, the standard is simple: it is something Kristen would genuinely recommend to a friend or family member. Recommendations reflect real editorial judgment, not commercial pressure.

Please note that UniGuide also displays advertising through third-party ad networks, including Mediavine. These advertisements are served programmatically and are not personally vetted by Kristen. They do not represent editorial endorsements by UniGuide.

Sponsored Content Policy

UniGuide does not currently publish sponsored posts. If sponsored content is ever introduced in the future, it will be clearly and prominently labeled as such so that readers can never mistake it for independent editorial content. UniGuide would only consider sponsored partnerships with brands and organizations that are genuinely aligned with our values and that we could recommend to our audience in good conscience.

Our Use of AI

UniGuide is not opposed to the use of AI tools as part of the research and content creation process. However, every piece of content published on UniGuide is personally reviewed, edited, and approved by Kristen M. Stanton before publication. AI is a tool that may support the process, but it does not replace the human judgment, lived experience, and editorial voice that define UniGuide’s content.

Reader Comments

UniGuide welcomes comments and community engagement. All comments submitted on UniGuide posts are personally reviewed by Kristen before they are published. We do not publish comments that are hateful, spammy, lacking in substance or valuable contribution to our visitors, or otherwise harmful to our community.

Corrections and Updates Policy

We take accuracy seriously and we correct our mistakes. If a meaningful error is brought to our attention — whether factual, cultural, or otherwise — we will review it promptly and update the content where warranted.

When articles are meaningfully updated, the publication date is revised to reflect that update, so you can trust that you are reading current information.

If you believe something on UniGuide contains an error or should be reconsidered, please contact us. We read every message and take feedback seriously.
