Vegan gifts are for everyone, and they need not be complicated. After all, vegans are just like ordinary folks who appreciate a token of affection from someone they love. All they ask is that no animals be harmed in the making of the gift.
While some non-vegan gifts are obvious – for example, you know you shouldn’t order them any Omaha Steaks, there are a few things that non-vegans might be surprised by. For one, don’t buy a vegan wool socks or a wool sweater, as the wool industry is not kind to sheep. And a few other things that are not vegan include silk, honey, or anything with gelatin – including candy and traditional marshmallows.
But gift buying for vegans is easier than you might think! So, whether your loved ones are vegan, vegetarian, plantbased-curious, or all-out omnivores, here are some vegan gift ideas that are sure to bring a smile to their faces and many blessings from the animal kingdom.

When food is cooked or heated to temperatures above 48° C/118° F, the life-supporting enzymes it contains are destroyed. When the enzymes are destroyed, the food loses vital nutrients and is in a state of decay. This is the argument in favor or eating raw foods – that they’re far healthier than cooked foods.
In fact. some studies have shown that when people eat cooked foods, their white blood cell count goes up because consuming decaying food triggers an immune response in your body. Thus, whole “live” foods are considered the healthiest and most nutrient-dense.
Dehydrating food, such as fruit, vegetables, seeds, and nuts, is a way of changing the state of the food without destroying the enzymes. For example, if you love the crunchiness of crackers and chips, you can make them in a food dehydrator vs. cooking or frying them.
Food dehydrators are loved not only by raw food vegans, but anyone who loves to make delicious, healthy food. Excalibur food dehydrators are the top rated among the vegan raw food chefs and foodies I know. And Amazon also carries a number of other highly rated brands.
In my opinion, vegan chefs are saving the world, one delicious mouthful at a time. For human health, the environment, and respect for animals, the more vegan the world becomes, the better life will be for all of us. And vegan chefs creating delicious meals are making that transition easier for the masses. Here are some classic vegan cookbooks that newbie and experienced chefs will enjoy.

Author Sam Turnbull demonstrates that plantbased can include nachos, pizza, and a decadent chocolate cake. This cookbook is full of “drool-worthy” fuss-free recipes that even picky eaters will enjoy.
The more accessible and relatable vegan cooking becomes, the better. And Vegan for Everybody from America’s Test Kitchen achieves this. Gifts for Newbie Vegans, the Vegan Curious, and Those You Want to Turn Vegan
I was a vegetarian for 30 years before becoming vegan. Over that time, I had dabbled with veganism, but always seemed to fall back into my pizza-eating ways. Reading Finding Ultra was a catalysts that put me squarely into the 100% vegan camp. I think it’s because Rich Roll is so relatable and human. Thoughtful and well-written, this book is about a guy who overcomes the stranglehold of addiction through the love of his wife and family, a plantbased lifestyle, and getting fit. This book makes a great gift for anyone who needs some extra inspiration to find their path and live a healthier lifestyle.
Even today, a myth still prevails that vegans are weaklings. Plantbased athletes Robert Cheeke and Vanessa Espinoza are two people who are dispelling that myth. This book is full of information to motivate and inspire you to embrace your inner athlete and set him or her free. It’s got information to motivate and inspire you to embrace healthy plantbased eating and reach for your ultimate fitness potential.

This is a great gift for new vegans and the vegan curious.

There are some people who should go vegan but to whom you can never use the “v” word because they have negative preconceived ideas about what it means. Those are the people that you can give a book like this to: How Not to Die.
Dr. Michael Greger’s bestseller provides the scientific evidence behind the only diet that can prevent and reverse many of the causes of premature death and disability in our society. (Shhh, it’s a plantbase diet.) This book has 120 recipes for delicious, healthy meals and tons of beautiful photos to inspire even the most die-hard carnivores to go vegan.
Veganism is not about perfection. It’s about striving to live a lifestyle that’s healthier and cruelty-free. To me, that’s what this 99% vegan mug is all about.
If you’ve never tried Miyoko’s artisanal vegan cheeses, it’s time to start. Made with traditional cheese-making fermentation processes and high-quality plantbased ingredients, Miyoko’s cheeses are as delicious and decadent as the traditional, dairy-based kind. Plus, she makes a cashew-based vegan butter that’s out of this world – it melts on toast just like dairy butter and you can cook with it too. Miyoko’s is available in Whole Foods, and I think you they just started selling in Target. Or, you can order directly from Miyoko’s website.
