Hemp sandals are not your ordinary, everyday sandals. Why? Because they’re made with a wonder fiber. Hemp is an ideal material for sandals because it’s naturally antimicrobial and hypoallergenic, so it’s easy on your feet and it has natural, built-in odor control. It can handle sweaty feet from hot summer days and still smell good.
Here’s a rundown on why hemp is the perfect material for sandals:
- The hemp plant grows easily and sustainably without the use of pesticide, herbicides, and fungicides, thus hemp a lot of hemp fiber organic.
- As mentioned above, the naturally anti-microbial properties of the hemp plant make it an ideal material for sandals. It doesn’t hold on to odors like materials such as leather and some synthetics do.
- Hemp is hypoallergenic, so it won’t irritate your bare feet. It’s great for people with sensitive skin.
- Hemp fiber is extremely strong, which makes it durable enough for shoes.
- As a natural fiber, hemp will eventually decompose. So, these sandals have a lighter environmental footprint than many of those that are made synthetics or animal skin that’s been treated with preservatives.
